Cookie-Cutter Brown Trout

It’s fall in the Eastern Sierra.  That means the flows on the Lower Owens River are down around 200cfs, the brown trout are active, and the surface action is predictable. So are the cookie-cutter brown trout…

One of several photo copy, cookie-cutter browns

This time of year is my favorite for fishing.  The fish are very active, the flies are predictable, and the weather is typically awesome.  I’m looking forward to many more days of warm sunshine and dry-fly action…

Thanks for looking!

A few Birdies for today…

I took a few bird shots yesterday at lunch, and thought I might share them today…

I also managed a couple of shots of our dog, Rex, playing frisbee…

Rex is just not happy unless he catches it in the air…

Thanks for coming along!

The Happy Boulders

I had today off, and it was a really nice day…not cold, but still not hot…sun shining, but not ridiculously intense…and the lizards were out and about, scampering around.

So I hopped in the old pickup and headed to the Happy Boulders for some lizard and rock monkey shots.  And I can call y’all rock monkies cause I are one too…

Checking out the Serenghetti Boulder

Saw a couple guys working an old favorite of mine, from back in the day, before I got old…

The Hulk

If you guys happen to see this…thanks for letting me shoot you while you climbed.  Hope you both sent before the day ended…

And…a spent dandelion–
